Q. How do I Choose Number of Sets?
A. Click on the box and the quantity options will appear. Based on your intended use, please select the appropriate number of sets to match the number of books needing index tab sets. So if you have 1,000 books, order 1,000 sets. Your unit price is shown next to each quantity. Once the number of sets is selected the Total Price will be updated to reflect your needs.
Q. What Size are the Tabs?
A. The tabs are designed for use with 8.5 x11 standard letter size paper.
The standard side tabs have an 8.5x11 body size and a 9x11 overall size;
The standard bottom tabs have 8.5x11 body size and a 8.5x11.5 overall size.
If you need tabs for a ½ size book, no problem, just add a CUSTOMER COMMENT letting us know you have a special request and that you need the body size to be 5.5’’x8.5’’ and 6”x8.5” including the tab extension; the PDF proof will indicate the size, so carefully check this when you review your proof.
Q. How do I choose the Cut?
A. Choose the CUT based on the number of titles and the amount of space needed for each title. The cut represents the number of tab positions in a full bank (row of tabs). For example 5th cut tabs would have 5 positions in the bank; whereas 10th cut tabs would have 10 positions in the bank. As you click on the cut, you will see an image of the bank of tabs represented by the cut you select / click.
Q. What is Edge Reinforcing?
A. This a 9/16" strip of mylar laminated to the back side of the binding edge of the sheet. It is used to strengthen the sheet. Applying edge reinforcing to the tab sheet will minimize the probability a tab will be torn off the rings. This is a wise investment if the tabs are going to be used frequently.
Q. What is Collation?
A. Collation is the gathering of different tabs into sets. You can gather the tabs either starting with the first or last tab.
STRAIGHT SEQUENCE COLLATION
The sequence, 1,2,3,4,5…1,2,3,4,5…1,2,3,4,5 represents a STRAIGHT SEQUENCE COLLATION.
REVERSE SEQUENCE COLLATION
The reverse sequence, 5,4,3,2,1…5,4,3,2,1…5,4,3,2,1 represents a REVERSE SEQUENCE COLLATION.
UNCOLLATED TABS
Uncollated tabs would be stacks of the same tab.
Q. What is Standard 2 or 3 Hole & Hole Location?
A. "Standard 3-hole Side” has 3 holes on the 11” SIDE edge, 5/16” diameter holes, spaced 4.25” center to center
“Standard 2-hole Side” has 2 holes on the 11” SIDE edge, 5/16” diameter holes, spaced 2.75” center to center
“Standard 2-hole Top” has 2 holes on the 8.5” TOP edge, 5/16” diameter holes, spaced 2.75” center to center
Q. What is the differences in paper?
A. We offer two shades of paper: 100# manila or 100# white; the paper is Forestry Council Certified and contains recycled content.
